On a positive note, once you've had a cancer diagnosis, life is all the more precious and every Christmas is one to be enjoyed!

Well, that's Christmas over!
Like many women I know, I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer at Christmas time, in my case 14th December 2007. This means mixed feelings about Christmas as it now will always take me back to 'THAT' Christmas, coming out of hospital on the 23rd etc.

Welcome news on Breast Cancer screening!
How fantastic to read in The Irish Times (front page 22nd December 2009) about a breakthrough made in NUI Galway, which may mean that within a couple of years, a simple blood test could be used for Breast Cancer screening.
Not only would we avoid the discomfort of a mammogram, but this test might be a lot more accurate in detecting the presence of breast cancer. I would love to think that before long it could be used on cancer survivors as part of our annual screening - wouldn't it be comforting to get an 'all clear' result. It would certainly put my mind at rest.
Congratulations to Prof Michael Kerin and his team, what a wonderful achievement, something that will certainly put Ireland on the map for all the right reasons!

Its Live!
I sometimes think it would have been quicker to have a baby than to produce my website www.feelgoodscarves.com !
But after lots of work and great input from everyone who worked with me on it, its LIVE!
I hope that women who have lost their hair through chemo or alopecia, will find something they like on the website and that having something nice to wear will make them feel a little better.
